“We gotta go to the crappy town where I’m a hero”

crappytown_thumb5And how often have we recognized that sentiment …?

The good news is thanks to the wonderful peeps at Qmx teaming with the equally hospitable and all-round fantastic peeps who make up the Austin Browncoats, now is most definitely your chance.

Ben Mund – the creator of the awesome Serenity Valley map – is continuing on his personal epic of the ‘Verse with his forthcoming, “Atlas to the ‘Verse, Volume One: The Trader’s Guild Guide to the New Canaan Run” and to help him name towns, Browncoats are being given the opportunity to bid on eBay to name a town on your favourite planet in aid of Equality Now.  Fab or what?!

Of course, there are rules.  Firstly all names are subject to studio approval, no cursing please, nothing jokey or “pop-reference” (eg, Bobsville or Frakkintown) and finally, your town name should be 15 characters or less not including punctuation or spacing – sorry but looks like Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllanty-siliogogogoch is out of the running then …

There are planets for you to choose from and if you wish to join in the fun of having your favourite placename immortalized, then please go the to Austin Browncoats site for full details and good luck.

  1. Just a quick note – more than $2,000 for Equality Now has been raised, with 46 of the 50 cities gone, and 6 of the 8 planets full. Thanks to all, and get your crappy town before the final four go

  2. The Crappy Town Auction is ending soon!!!

All 50 towns have been bid on, but it’s not too late! You can still outbid other bidders. If you are a hero in need of a crappy town, you’d better start bidding! Only 9 hours left!

Over $2,500 has been raised for Equality Now – yay! Hurry to get your piece of the Firefly/Serenity Verse: http://is.gd/v9rI
