In memory … John Hughes

John HughesI’m a huge fan of “THE BREAKFAST CLUB” and “FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF”, I love those films.

During the course of the day, many thousands of words are being written about the wonderful film legacy of John Hughes and how he vividly encapsulated teenagers.  I wish to say only this: his films touched many of us and continue to resonate, he made us laugh and made us cry and how wonderful it is knowing that his work can be discovered by new generations.  He was taken too young.

One of the things, that I came across was this blog written by someone who had a truly wonderful connection with him.  Personally, I found this to be very, very moving and I thank her for sharing.

The detention bell has gone and Ferris has finished “Twist And Shout” – John Hughes, thank you.
