Supporting Medicinema

Earlier this month, I was lucky enough to attend the first Star Wars Dinner and Quiz fundraiser for the UK charity, Medicinema.

I am proud that Sending A Wave is supporting the charity by sponsoring a seat to enable a patient to watch a film during their stay in hospital.

On behalf of everyone at MediCinema, I am writing to sincerely thank you for your generous support at our recent Star Wars fundraising event. We were delighted to raise awareness of MediCinema and its wonderful work through such a glamorous and fun-filled evening.

The Feedback we have received tells us it was a great success, meeting our objectives on three counts:

Raising vital funds:  The evening generated over £65,000 for the charity. This will help tremendously with our efforts to build a new MediCinema at Headley Court and further expand the work of MediCinema.

Raising awareness of MediCinema:  The event received great feedback and media coverage. We hope that attendees who did not know about us before feel welcome to join our family and become future MediCinema supporters. If you or your guests would like to know more then we encourage you to register for our mailing list at the new and improved

An engaging and interactive event:   It was a great night with something for everyone and table enquiries have already been made for future events.   Photos of the evening have been added to the event website and can be found at  We’d really like to make this Star Wars celebration an annual fundraising event, so we’d like your feedback and support for future development. Please email with your comments and suggestions.

We would sincerely like to thank everyone at 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm for their trust and support.

Best regards”
