Show 164: The One About The End

Yes; that is correct.  The time has come at last to make planetfall and shut off the engines.

When the idea for a UK podcast was first floated in a pub off of Leicester Square waaaaaay back in 2006, and then a posting on the British Browncoat fansite, cantstopthesignal.co.uk, I never thought for a second that I would still be doing the show in 2018 some 11 and a half years later.

Unfortunately, it has become more and more difficult over the last few years to find regular content and I am not in position now to go seek out content as I have been able to in the past.  So it is a good time to finish.

I am extremely proud of the achievements of the podcast since its inception and that is due to the strength of the fandom.  Sending A Wave’s longevity has been due to its focus on the fandom, and on a personal note, it has been a fabulous journey and I have met and/or spoken with incredible people over the years.

I would also like to thank every single person who became involved with making the show happen for however short or long as without their input, there would have been nothing.

The Browncoat community remains vibrant (fireflyfans.net, cantstoptheserenity.com, The Firefly Podcast) and there are lots of regional Browncoat pages on Facebook  I know that every time I attend a convention or similar, I will continue to see Jayne hats, Kaylee layer cake dresses, parasols and browncoats of all ages.

Thank you for giving your time and support to this podcast.

Show 161: As Long As I’m Flyin’

AsLongAsImFlyin-CDCoverThank you for joining me for Show 161!

I’m joined by extraordinaire, Marc Gunn, to talk about his new “Firefly” inspired song collection, “As Long As I’m Flyin’ ” being released on 6 March 2018.

No only do we talk about his love of celtic music, his new song collection, his podcasts, but also how Patreon is invaluable to him.

You can find out what Marc is up to and his appearances at his website, marcgunn.com.  From there you can find links to his Patreon site, music, blog, podcasts, etc.  Marc also has a YouTube channel so you can also watch him perform if you can’t see him live – or like me, walk past his table at DragonCon (between Mariott Marquis and Imperial ballrooms by the way, walk around the lifts (elevators))!

“As Long As I’m Flyin’ ” will be released 6 March 2018 and Marc will have full details on his website about how to purchase and stream
